I've gone through all of the setup and FAQ and can not tune the dang thing! All that shows up is this peak smack dab in the middle of the waterfall.

Any ideas as to what I've done wrong?

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the screen shots they lead to lots of questions.

1. What sound card are you using for IQ connections to the RS-HFIQ? for the speaker and microphone?
2. Are any of the devices set to the default in Windows Sound panel?
3. Are they set to the correct bandwidth? It looks like HDSDR is set to 48kHz but the sound card is set to something narrower.
4. Is Omni-Rig setup and communicating with the RS-HFIQ?
5. What kind of antenna are you using?
6. What kind of 12V power supply do you have?
7. Does the RS-HFIQ have two green LEDs on the front panel?

Knowing the answers to these questions will likely generate more questions.

I am using the Startech usb sound card that was recommended from the HobbyPCB website
2. Are any of the devices set to the default in Windows Sound panel?
Only default device is my computer speakers and microphone respectively
3. Are they set to the correct bandwidth? It looks like HDSDR is set to 48kHz but the sound card is set to something narrower.
How would I check if they were set to proper bandwidth?
4. Is Omni-Rig setup and communicating with the RS-HFIQ?
How would I know if it was or wasn't? I believe it is but would like to make sure.
5. What kind of antenna are you using?
135' delta loop, it works just fine with my little RTL-SDR dongle
6. What kind of 12V power supply do you have?
The 12V supply sold for the radio on HobbyPCB
7. Does the RS-HFIQ have two green LEDs on the front panel?
Yes sir!

Thank you!

It maybe time for a Skype call. You can share you screen with me and I can walk you through getting everything set up. Send me and email (jim -at- hobbypcb -dot- com) and we can get this sorted out.
