I saw mention of it before Dayton but haven't heard or found anything online about it since. Nothing on site either. Did I imagine the whole thing? Any details you can share?

Sure, here is a photo of the prototype:

I'm working on tuning the LPFs for lower loss and the AN-1819 should have a touch more gain. In the next couple weeks will get a sign-up list together.

Thanks Jim,
Looking good! I doubt I can sign up just yet, it takes me awhile to save money up for things but it's definitely a goal for me. Anxiously awaiting my Pi-SDR-IQ + and trying to find some breaks in this unseasonably hot Georgia heat to do antenna work and repairs.

Interesting will it be a kit?

Yes, the HR500 will be a kit, similar in skill level to the HR50. We will probably supply the toroids pre-wound because a common kit-building issue is failure to completely remove the enamel from the toroid wires. In a 50W kit, this simply make the amp not function, in a 500W amp it can end in flames.

Wow. Time to start saving, I guess.

I'm hoping the tiny little 'trick' firmware update that allows the HR50 to be directly compatible with the Elecraft K2 will also show up in the rig interface on the HR500.

This feature will allow the thousands of K2 rigs sitting idle in shacks around the world to gain a QRO voice and take to the airwaves once again, in this age of low sunspots.

Of course I am volunteering to test this, as well! 5 watts in, 500 out is a step in the right direction, and is THE key missing implementation line-item for cost effective, remotely-operated stations.

Any updates on when that list might be available? :)
